There are many different styles of dance. There is Jazz, Hip Hop, Contempary, Lyrical, Street, Modern, Tap, Ballet, Ballroom, Country and western, Belly, Latin, Flamenco, Break dance and Folk. Haha. Different styles of dance use different skills. Skills
A pirouette is a skilled spin, usually on the toes or ball of the foot, it is a full turn of the body. It is normally completed in a short amount of time. Elevation is when a dancer leaves the floor, and a move if performed in the air, this could be a simple jump, or a Pirouette. There are also kicks, and some gymnastics is also included in dance, flexibility plays a big part. Although it may sound as if a piroette can only be completed in slow dances such as ballet or contempary, this is not the case. People that do street dance also do pirouettes, just in a different styles, and usually not as elegant. Street Dance
Street dance is the main type of dance in this day and age! there are street dance groups that are all over the world; status, prodigy, flawless, diversity etc. there are also street dancers who do solo dances or do duets; George sampson, twist and pulse, Chris and Wes etc. Music Video's
Music artists also do street dance in their music videos. Dancing makes the singer/rapper seem more interesting. Music artists who can dance are: Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Bluey Robinson etc. Many music video's include dance, for example Cheryl Cole's "Promise This" includes some ballet.
